Skillando Digital Volunteering, the flagship initiative of Digital for Humanity, a non-profit organization committed to reducing the digital divide and promoting digital inclusion, was founded in 2017 when Filippo Scorza began a Master’s degree in Social Innovation at the Amani Institute in Nairobi, Kenya.
There, he encountered the Tunapanda Institute, a school in Kibera, one of Nairobi’s largest slums, where young people were learning computer science and digital skills.
Struck by the potential of that environment, Filippo began volunteering as a computer science teacher. That experience sparked something bigger than expected: a global movement of digital professionals offering their time, skills, and passion to support non-profits.
Today, Skillando DV empowers social impact organizations in Italy and the Global South through the strength of its community, driven by the belief that access to digital tools and knowledge should be a right, not a privilege.

bridging digital divide
Skillando Digital Volunteering is a social impact project with the aim of breaking down the digital divide of ONP and Social Ventures in the World.
We create and deliver digital volunteering activities and initiatives for non-profit organizations, schools and social organizations.
We do this through a large community of digital natives and human resources of companies and corporates, who share skills, time and experiences.
We facilitate the use of digital not as a goal in itself, but as a tool to solve the concrete problems that our generation has inherited and created in turn.
We want to inspire other minds to use digital to create jobs, education, awareness, knowledge, and to fulfill the needs of their community.
We share our experiences and support non-profit organizations that want to maximize their impact through digital skills.
